May 18, 2019 Hello! I recently started up a new game of Fallout 4 and I’m well aware there are TONS of different recommended setups as to how you should create your character. For me, I found that trying to effectively allocate the 21 points you get at the beginning of the game can be difficult. My S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Points are maxed out. When I finish LR the game wants me to add a point and as all are 10 there is no where to add it. I need the console command to remove one or some and I have searched everywhere in all the guides and walk throughs and cannot find it. I know I used it in the past and it has to be out there.
This page describes the SPECIAL implementation in Fallout 4. |

Character creation
Tell us about yourself! Vault-Tec needs to know what kind of citizen you are to ensure your future happiness.
”— Registration FormCharacter creation is part of the tutorial and introductory sequence, performed in-character as a routine confirmation of 'vital information' by a Vault-Tec representative visiting the household of your character.
Primary statistics
As in previous games, you are presented with seven SPECIAL attributes and commit points to them; however, unlike other games, the character begins with 1 point in each attribute and is given 21 extra points to spread across the board, giving the character a total of 28 SPECIAL points rather than the 40 in previous titles. However, points gained upon level up can be invested in increasing a SPECIAL statistic (or a normal perk, if desired). The Fallout 4 implementation of SPECIAL still includes all seven statistics, standing for:
Strength | Perception | Endurance | Charisma | Intelligence | Agility | Luck |

Derived statistics
Perks
Skills have been removed entirely from Fallout 4, their role taken over by extensive perk trees. There are hundreds of perks to choose from, in a system likely inherited from Skyrim.

Fallout 4 is equipped with a powerful console that allows users to modify their character, and the game, during gameplay. The console allows users to cheat, but also gives people the chance to work around glitches in the game, and experiment with parts of Fallout 4 they otherwise would not have access to.

Fallout 4 Character Cheats and Console Commands
These are commands that modify your Fallout 4 character's SPECIAL stats, derived stats, perks, and skills.
S.P.E.C.I.A.L.
SPECIAL abilities are the primary statistic in Fallout 4. SPECIAL points increase your character's general attributes, and are used to calculate game events like hit chance, and persuasion chance. Modifying the SPECIAL attributes of your character will unlock new perks in Fallout 4.
Fallout 4 S.P.E.C.I.A.L. list
- Strength - Carry weight, melee and unarmed
- Perception - Awareness, VATS accuracy, lockpicking
- Endurance - Hit points, resistance
- Charisma - Persuasion, companions, money

I am unsure how this works in Fallout 4, so this section comes later... May include things like repair skill.
